1 – Great Backstroke is not swum on your back…it is swum on your Side. There are four reasons for this:
-It is much more Streamlined (Kayak vs. Barge).
-It allows for a much more efficient Catch.
-It allows for a much more Powerful pull/push.
-It is much easier on your shoulders/rotator cuff.
2 – The Kick is even more important than Freestyle.
-Needs to be Tight and make the water “Boil”.
3 – If you are “Fishtailing”, your arm entry point is wrong. You are crossing over the midline.
4 -If you are “Bouncing”, the first part of your Catch is wrong.You are pushing down towards the bottom of the pool, rather than back towards the end of the pool.
